From The President - By Mike Piccirilli

Dear Members,

I sent a letter off to the engine overhauler to get his opinion of the oil sample results but have yet to receive a response.

I saw a write up in a magazine that a lot of C-172's are developing cracks in the horizontal tail spar requiring replacement. It seems the cracks develop from people pushing down on the horizontal tail to manuever the aircraft on the ground. Please use the towbar when turning our 172. The replacement parts and labor could easily total a couple of thousand dollars if we would have to replace ours.

Emerson purchased the handbook for the Apollo 920 GPS so he could read up on it prior to a purchase decision. He wanted me to let any members interested know that he is willing to lend it out.

Happy Landings,

Mike Piccirilli
