From The President - By Mike Piccirilli

Dear Members,

We had our annual meeting on 6/25 at the Million Air offices. 5 of the 7 members were in attendance. Emerson Russell and John Ganahl were not able to attend. Mike Russell prepared the meeting minutes and updated the club roster. They are both enclosed.

Marlin Sipe was elected Treasurer and as such will be preparing the monthly billing statement and paying the bills. Please address your checks to Marlin at 2426 Meadow Run Ct., Maryland Heights, MO. 63043. Marlin has transferred the budget statement to his PC and says everything on the statement should be correct, but it's still in work. He will be improving the format a little as time goes on.

Because it's over 20 miles to the airport, it's inconvenient for Marlin to go out to Spirit just to get the flight times. He will get the times when he is out there, which means the cut-off date for billing may not always be the 15th ofthe month. He will have the actual cut-off date on the statement. It usually won't make any difference if it's a few days off, because the plane doesn't fly for days at a time. Also, there is no longer a monthly flight time minimum so there should be no adverse impact on anyone.

I was out of town last week and got home to get the message there was a problem with the alternator. Randy and Marlin are planning to go out this week to splice a wire that apparently broke. Emerson will notify everyone when the plane is in flight status.

Happy Landings,

Mike Piccirilli

Minutes of St. Louis Flying Club Meeting 6/25 at Million Air

Present: Mike Piccirilli, Mike Russell, Randy Skyles, Marlin Sipe & Chuck Zimmerman

  • The first order of business concerned the dues and hourly costs. It was decided to raise the monthly dues to $50/month and keep the flying at $30/hour. It was also voted on to discontinue the 1/2 hour minimum flight time per month.
  • The next subject was the election of new officers.
    1. Mike Piccirilli was re-elected president
    2. Emerson Russell was re-elected as scheduler
    3. Randy Skyles was re-elected as maintenance officer
    4. Mike Russell was elected vice-president and volunteered to step in as president in the event Mike Piccirilli sold his share.
    5. Mike Russell was also re-elected as the secretary.
    6. Marlin Sipe was elected as treasurer
  • We voted to switch to Jet Corp for our fuel and line service. Marlin is able to get a $.05/gallon discount on the gasoline. We should all continue to use Million Air for our fuel until we hear from Marlin that we are set up at Jet Corp.
  • We voted to overhaul the turn coordinator as long as it remains under $300. Randy will be responsible for getting it fixed.
  • Marlin is going to research the problem on the ADF and report back. We will then make a decision based on the information that Marlin has found out.
