From The President - By Mike Piccirilli

Dear Members,

The big news this month is the left magneto disintegrated within its case while it was sitting on the ramp this past month. It was found by C.J. and troubleshot by Bill Emerson and myself because we couldn't believe it. I had Executlve Beechcraft repair it and though I haven't received the bill I am told to expect it to be a little over $600. The magnetos were brand new with the overhauled engine but the warrenty on the magnetos was Just 12 months. The overhaul was 20 months and 210 Flt hrs ago. I called the manufacturer and am working with them to have some of the repair cost taken care of. In the mean time the bill must be paid.

As you can see on the enclosed bill, the escrow account is about $450 in the red. There is an insurance payment coming up in July for a little over $500. The magneto $600 and the insurance $500 bill will have to be paid ln July. The only alternative I saw was to have a special assessment of $100 added to your July bill. This is a short term solution as I see us still about $350 in the red on the escrow account after July.

C.J. suggested the idea of a monthly flight time minimum of .5 hr. It would be an extra $15 per person per month to the treasury and would help to motivate club members to stay current and active. It would be a use it or lose it deal. Let me know if it sounds good or if you have a better idea.

On the lawsuit side, Charlie McMullin has informed me that we are #5 on the court docket for week of 1 July. Since it is a holiday week, he doubts whether we will get our turn. Charlie will contact you if and when needed.

I am enclosing the new St. Louls TCA that went into effect June 1991. Shame on you if you are using an old TCA chart! It has changed.

Last but not least, I'm planning on taking the 172 on a week's vacation to Pennsylvania in mid-July, if anybody is trying to get a hold of me.

Happy Landings,

Mike Piccirilli
