St. Louis Flying Club Newsletter - 21 April 2008

From The President - By Todd Michal

Dear Members,

The annual inspection is scheduled for April 25th. Having our hangar should make the job nicer even if the rain continues to fall. Randy has volunteered to help John out with the annual. Even with his help, I'm sure John won't turn anyone away, so come on out a lend a hand if you are available. It's an excellent chance to learn more about the plane.

Happy Takeoffs!

Todd

Treasurer's Report - by Mike McBride

Treasury balances are at good levels going into the annual. The adjusted treasury is at just over $650, a bit shy of the desired level; keep your fingers crossed for no major expenses arising from the upcoming inspection.

Fuel prices held stable, but the hourly rate has gone up as a result of the increased fuel consumption we have been experiencing, as I described in last month's newsletter. I have used 8.0 GPH to compute our current hourly rate, reflecting our consumption over the past 90 days (our 180-day consumption rate is closer to 8.3 GPH.) The hourly flight rate is now $66. Let's continue to use good leaning practices and keep our flying inexpensive. JetDirect continues to offer the most favorable fuel prices on the field.

Our poor flying weather over the past month has kept the plane on the ground. We only logged 2.3 flight hours.

Hope to see folks at the hanger helping out on the annual inspection! Fly safe, Mike

   Maintenance - by John

  • Annual Inspection - We now have lights, additional electrical outlets, and a work bench in the Hangar. We are all set to start the annual inspection on Friday, April 25th. If you are able to come down to the Hangar on Sat or Sunday, that would be great. I will send out an email on Friday night with the plan for Saturday.
