From The President - By Mike Piccirilli

Dear Members,

I hope you all have had a chance to at least stop out and look at the plane. I'm pleased with the color combination and overall quality. I have noticed some small items I'd like to fix sometime (insufficient caulking around the front windshield, missing interior screws near the rear window, a loose interlor screw in the right front door post and the interior could use a good vacuuming and scrubbing of the lower panels). Let me know if you notice anything to add to the list or if you get a chance to fix any of these items yourself!

The total cost of the paint Job wad $6,748.03 vs. my estlmate of $6,000. The difference in the cost was higher costs of replacement parts, the fabric headliner, increased labor to install interior parts, dressed/palnted propellor and tax.

The insurance is slightly higher than last year, mostly due to the higher hull value, $31,500.

After paying off the paint job and paying the entire insurance bill at once, we are left with $900+ dollars in the treasury, almost enough to purchase a portable GPS receiver. If someone is interested ln checking them out, that would be great. I'd personally like to hold off until the treasury gets a little bigger.

Since Charlie has sold his share, we will need a new club Secretary. The Secretary Job isn't too hard in that it is mainly to organize our meetings (annualIy?), take minutes, keeper of the club seal, and issue club membership certificates. Please let me know if you would consider it. I will publish a ballot in the next newsletter so we can properly vote the new secretary in.

Mike Russell has pointed out that birds have returned to roost in our tail. I'm looking for someone to take a personal interest in this problem and resolve it. I was thinking that foam rubber stuffed ln the large holes between the elevator and stabilator would do the trlck. Chuck Zimmerman suggested taping the lightening holes in the rear of the stabilator.

Happy Landings,

Mike Piccirilli
