From The President - By Mike Piccirilli Dear Members, Dear Members, Wouldn't you know it. I'm trying to sell my share in the club and I put more hours on the plane this past month than I have done in more than 13 years! I put on 7.8 hours mainly flying my daughter to and from a week of summer camp in far southwestern Missouri. The airplane worked great and the fuel was a lot cheaper down there! Thanks to John for changing the oil! I went ahead and ran a valuation of the plane:
The value shown (based on Total Time, Hrs since major O/H, and new interior) was $53,417. From this value would have to be deleted an amount for damage history (minimal due to the "damage" being limited to a total replacement of the right wing for wind damage and the towing incident) and the other current discrepanacies (ADF and paint touch up). Currently the aircraft is valued at $46,600 in the billing statement. I suggest the members discuss and vote on what they consider the aircraft valuation at the next club meeting. With the overhaul "kitty" over $2,000 and the positive amount in the treasury, I certainly feel comfortable in selling my share for $7,000 (someone will get a sweet deal). As far as my progress in selling my share goes, I haven't found the new member yet. From my ad in the Post Dispatch, I have received about a half dozen inquiries but no follow up. John has identified a friend with an instrument rating and I've shown him the plane but it hasn't progressed. Mike Russell is going to take his brother-in-law up next Monday to see if he might be interested. He is instrument rated and used to own a C-182. I'll place another ad in the Post if neither one of these shows more promise. Happy Landings! Pic Treasurer's Report - by Marlin Sipe High flying time this past month resulted in a large amount of fuel credits. This resulted in the Adjusted Treasury decreasing from $559 to $267. When the payments are received next month for the 22 hours of flying, the Adjusted Treasury will take a nice jump and should be well above where it was before the drop (unless there are any unexpected expenses). All just a matter of timing.
Maintenance - by John Heilmann & Randy Skyles Oil Change - The oil and filter were changed at 3997.0 Tach hours. The oil sample was sent in for analysis. Landing Light - The landing light inoperative problem was a loose disconnect. This is the disconnect used when removing the cowling. I purchased a new type disconnect that has a locking feature to keep the disconnect from coming apart in the future. STL Class B Airspace Change FAA SEEKS PUBLIC COMMENT ON ST.
