From The President - By Todd Michal

Dear Members,

Marlin returning from his flight to Pennsylvania yesterday and from his trip report, the airplane and new avionics are working well. It is great to see there were no maintenance issues with the plane on the trip.

John has the NAV-11 up for auction on ebay. He just saw one sell for $51.00 and hopes we can get the same or more for ours.

We should have some great flying weather ahead with the cooler weather coming up in September and October. Keep in mind that the Spirit of St Louis Fair and Air show over the Labor day weekend will shut down the airport for several time periods as follows:

    Friday, 9/01/06

    • 1215L - 1700L (Air show Practice - may finish by 15:30L)

    Saturday, 9/02/06

    • 1215L - 1545L (Air show)
    • 2100L - 2200L (Fireworks)

    Sunday, 9/03/06

    • 1215L - 1545L (Air show)
    • 2100L - 2200L (Fireworks)

    Monday, 9/04/06

    • 1215L-1545L (Air show)

Happy Takeoffs!

Todd

Treasurer's Report - by Marlin Sipe

Fuel prices are remaining steady, which is good news. JetCorp is considering putting in a self-serve pump. I think they expect the price there to be something like 50 cents per gallon less than having them pump it from the truck. If they get that installed, maybe we can come up with some incentive for members to get self-serve instead of simply calling. Maybe some percentage of the savings credited to the member when he pumps it himself. Something to think about for a while.

The Adjusted Treasury had a nice increase this month, increasing from $41 to $299. With the higher than average amount of flying, it should continue to increase nicely (as always, assuming no unexpected expenses). We also received about $48 for the sale of the second old Com-11 radio. We will be receiving about $20 from the Boeing flying club for some of our extra coax and connectors. Not much, but every bit helps.

   Maintenance - by John

Not much to report on maintenance this month as the aircraft has been flying well with no reported issues.

  • Oil Change - We changed the oil on August 6 and submitted the oil sample for analysis. The next oil change is due at 4124 hours.
  • Placards - The new placards for the circuit breakers, Avionics Master Switch and Overvolt Warning Light have been installed.
