From The President - By Steve
Dear Members,
It looks like some great flying weather coming up as John and Larry put the finishing touches on the Arrow. We should have all three planes with fresh engines
flying by the end of the month.
The officers are preparing for the Fall meeting so if you have something you would
like to get on the meeting agenda feel free to contact me. Keep in mind our meeting
will include the election of club officers. If you think you may have an interest in serving
in one of these positions but are not sure what is required call me and I can explain the
duties of each office.
I flew to Gaston’s last week in the RV. I’ve been there 4 or 5 times now and it is
always a pleasure. It is a beautiful grass strip nestled in a river valley with one way
in and one way out so brush up on your soft field landings and take-offs and
consider going with someone that has been there before. There are even some good You Tube videos that will show you what to look for. I have heard stories of pilots lining up on a field on the wrong side of the river!
John flew the Cessna and Brian flew the RV over to Mount Vernon for the Midwest Light Sport Expo on Saturday in formation with Clay Keithly in his Bonanza. Here are a few photos of the trip.

BILLING STATEMENT
Comments:
- Thanks everyone for sending in the receipts and please ensure that you throughly review your data. Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
BALANCE SHEET
- Cash - As we've repeatedly discussed for the past several months, we expect a low level of cash until we get all of the planes up and flying. We are giving it some more time to see how it fully develops, but with the increase in hangars and insurance, paired with our tight cash levels, an assessment may be inevitable to cash flow the club through early next year. I will discuss it at the fall meeting.
- Work in Progress - The RV has been completely marked as complete and John & Larry have each been given a credit of $2,000. The line item now includes estimates to get the Arrow flying again and to settle everything with the insurance company.
- Member Equity - Member equity continues to increase each month and likely has a large increase coming based on the valuation for the Arrow.
Maintenance - by John
N202CR RV-7A
- No Maintenance Actions this month
N20843 Cessna 172M
- Oil Change - On August 19th, we changes the oil and filter. There was no metal in the filter and the oil analysis results came back normal. We also cleaned gapped and rotated the spark plugs and did the Seat Rail inspection AD.
- JPI EDM-830 - The RPM and Fuel Flow readings were erratic so we installed a new RPM and Fuel Flow Sensor.
N2242N Piper Arrow IV
- Wings - The Service Bulletin work on the wings has been completed and the landing gear rigging is complete.
- Speed Mods - We finished installation of the Arrow flap gap seal and gear lobe fairing Speed Mods.
Engine Run - We pulled the Arrow out of the hangar on September 6th and did the initial engine run. Then engine ran fine after adjusting the idle RPM and cleaning the number 2 fuel injector nozzle.
Remaining Effort - Plan to install lower cowl and rig nose landing gear door linkage this week. Need to finish installing interior and carpet and complete paperwork.
