From The President - By Mike Piccirilli
Dear Members, The radios are the main issue regarding the airplane currently. Per previous e-mails, Randy will be removing the #1 radio and sending it back to the manufacturer for repair (if economically feasible). He will be replacing it with the extra radio. When the #1 radio gets returned, Randy will send the #2 radio to get it's transmitter repaired. Jeff Schubert wrote me that he has had an issue with the PTT switch being touchy (...Oftentimes, you need to push it "just right" to transmit). Has anyone else having an issue with it? Thanks for submitting your votes on prioritizing aircraft improvements to John. He has summarized the results (see his worksheet in the newsletter). The top priority is touching up the paint, #2 is purchase of the 4 person installed intercom, and #3 is the addition of an avionics cooling fan. The radios, of course, take priority over these issues since they are maintenance items and not improvements. I need to get the touch up paint from the paint shop, but, I will arrange to have the aircraft's paint touched up as soon as I verify with Marlin that the treasury is sufficient. I will continue down the list of improvements as money allows. Happy Landings!
Aircraft Improvement Priorities - by John Heilmann Thanks to everyone for submitting their priorities on aircraft improvements. The improvement priorities with number of first priority votes in parenthesis are as follows:
