From The President - By Mike Piccirilli

Dear Members,

Pic is out of town. President's column should return next month.

Treasurer's Report - by Marlin Sipe

The treasury took a nice jump this month, even allowing for the radio repair which hasn't been paid yet. We're actually ahead of the game for saving up for the Annual next year.

Maintenance Corner - from Marlin Sipe

As reported last month, the #1 VOR was out of IFR tolerance. I dropped off the plane at Ozark Radio. The VOR receiver was repaired and reinstalled, and they report it is now within a degree or tow. We did not get a bill for it yet, but the cost will be about $100 (1.5 hours at $65/hour).

The NDB receiver was also removed for repair. Turning one of the frequency selector knobs changed the frequency, but did not move the digits showing the frequency. The problem is a broken nylon gear. Ozark reports that Narco will not sell just the gear, so the unit has been sent to Narco for repair. In the meantime, Mike Russell moved the plane back to the shadeport for us. As of now, the plane is legally flyable with a temporary updated weight & balance until the NDB receiver comes back.

The plastic tub in the back of the plane that holds the ropes and misc stuff was falling apart. Randy picked up a nice little storage bin with a cover to replace it.

Randy, Todd, and I changed the oil and washed the plane. There's extra oil in the back again.

We noticed that some of the aluminum baffling around the engine is cracking. Randy thinks it should be replaced sometime.
