St. Louis Flying Club Newsletter - 19 December 2005

From The President - By Todd Michal

Dear Members,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Thanks to John and Marlin for replacing the battery and taking care of the pitot static and transponder check. As expected we have had difficulty scheduling the club meeting. We will continue trying to find a time that works for everyone. If necessary we may need to hold the meeting without the full membership.

Have a Merry Christmas.

Todd

Treasurer's Report - by Marlin Sipe

The hourly rate is now $57. The fuel cost is holding at $4.17 per gallon, so no change in the hourly rate next month.

The battery, ELT antenna and landing light caused a slight decrease in the Adjusted Treasury from $1500 to $1382, but it still looks good. Unless there are more maintenance costs this coming month, we should see a nice increase again next month.

The AOPA rebate on the JetCorp fuel saved the club about $98 over the past year.

   Maintenance - by John Heilmann

The following maintenance actions were accomplished since the last Newsletter:
  • Battery Replacement - The battery was replaced with a new Gil-25 battery on December 6th. The old battery was just over 3 years old and they typically do not last much longer than that, especially during the winter.
  • ELT Antenna - The broken ELT Antenna was replaced with a new ELT antenna on December 4th.
  • Oil Cooler plate and Tire servicing - Randy and John installed the oil cooler winterization plate and serviced the tires on 10 December.
