From The President - By Todd Michal

Dear Members,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Congratulations to Mark Rewhinkle on getting his instrument rating this month. It's great to see our members using the plane to get additional ratings.

It is time to start planning for the annual club meeting and officer elections. Mike Warakomski will be emailing you in the next week or so to try and set up a meeting date and time in January. Hopefully we will find a date when everyone can attend.

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Todd

Treasurer's Report - by Mike McBride

The Treasury and Adjusted Treasury showed nice increases in December, but it wasn't a gift from Santa. The Personal Property tax funds were moved from escrow into the treasury, but the tax payment has not yet been posted; that tax bill was about $900, and the charge should show up on the next monthly statement. Fuel prices continue to rise, the current rate at Sycamore is now at $4.90 per gallon; they are still $0.10 or so cheaper than JetDirect, but the difference should not be that much of a concern to us at this point.

We will still need an assessment in the next couple of months (February or March) to get the Adjusted Treasury up above zero. Expect that assessment to be in the same range as the prior one, about $150 per member.

The following table shows the total hours on the plane in 2007 through Dec 15. With the plane down for painting over the summer, 95.2 total hours is not too bad.

   Maintenance - by John

The Altimeter and Altitude reporter test per FAR 91.411 and Transponder Check per FAR 91.413 was completed on 14 December by Mueller Avionics. Then next test is due in Dec 2009.

The Navomatic Wing Leveler was placarded as inoperative until additional testing/troubleshooting can be done. We will discuss what effort we want to do at the club meeting as it is probably not wise to spend too much money trying to repair this unit.
