St. Louis Flying Club Newsletter - 31 December 2025

From The President - By Steve

Dear Members,

Another year in the books for the St. Louis Flying Club. September was the 83rd anniversary for our club! It was incorporated in 1942 with 5 members flying a J-3 Cub out of Lambert Field. We finished 2025 with 24 members and 3 airplanes flying out of Spirit of St. Louis Airport.

In 2025 we saw 2 shares change hands with Cory Bristow selling his share to his son Kyler and Mike Piccirilli selling his share to Darin Drummond. The 3 airplanes flew close to 600 hrs in 2025 with the time almost equally divided. The 24 members are all checked out in the Cessna, and 17 each in the RV and the Arrow. Members continued to earn new certificates and ratings in 2025 to include Instrument, MEI, CFI, a type rating in a Citation, and most recently Kyler Bristow getting his multi-engine rating in December!

With our insurance policy due January 22, Brian Williams has submitted our pilot flight and medical information and remains in contact with our broker. Thanks to everyone that replied to Brian with their flight information.

It has been a slow month for me as I had a total knee replacement 12/1. Things are going well and I hope to be flying soon.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year's!

Steve
