From The President - By Todd Michal

Dear Members,

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the annual meeting on Monday, March 3rd. I was able to fly a couple of times last month and enjoyed having a hangar. When the weather is cold, it is really nice to preflight the plane inside out of the wind. It is also nice not to have the ice sheet in front of the plane that we used to get at the shadeport after a snowstorm. I went over to the shadeport to get some items from the locked box and there was still a ten foot wide sheet of ice a week after the storm.

Special thanks to John and Mike M. for fixing the carb heat cable and returning the plane to service quickly.

Happy Takeoffs!

Todd

Treasurer's Report - by Mike McBride

The Adjusted Treasury remains in the red due to issues discussed previously; in order to get the adjusted treasury where we need it going into the annual, you will see a $300 per member assessment on this month's financial statement. This is larger than the assessment I had been hoping for, because I was targeting only getting the balance above zero; in fact, with the upcoming annual, we don't have much time to get the treasury to the desired level to support the expected costs for that. This assessment should get us back at an acceptable operating level, barring any unforeseen costs.

Fuel prices remained relatively stable, and the flight rate remains at $61 per hour. Fuel prices at JetDirect continue to be consistently lower than those at Sycamore, so please continue to use JetDirect for refueling.

The monthly rate has been increased to $95 per month per member, reflecting the additional cost of the hangar over that of the shadeport.

Still looking forward to seeing everyone at the upcoming club meeting on March 3rd.

   Maintenance - by John

  • Carb Heat Control Reapir - The carb heat control push pull wire broke at the connection to the door position lever arm. The door shaft and shaft bushings were replaced with the McFarlane Carb Heat repair kit to reduce vibration and increase the life of the carb heat control wire.

  • Trim Binding - The elevator trim chain was lubricated and now operates smoothly.
