From The President - By Charley

Dear Members:

Thanks to everyone for your input to the proposed by-law changes regarding scheduling rules for extended trips and special use dates (currently only Oshkosh). I will have an email vote out to members shortly. A motion to propose the changes will have already been submitted, I will send out the language and if there is no discussion we will then need a 2/3 vote to pass the proposal and change to the by-laws.

Please also be thinking about agenda items you would like to see added to our upcoming spring meeting. Officers will be meeting in early April to consider proposals and set an Agenda for our May meeting, it is always helpful to have input in advance of that meeting to prepare a list of items to present to members.

As we transition out of the really cold weather, just a quick reminder about engine heaters. When you arrive to fly, please press the button on the Iris outlet to turn the power to the engine heaters off. If this button is not pressed, the heater will remain on after the engine heat is plugged back in and may remain on unintentionally.

A huge thanks to Tim Volk and John Heilmann who organized a group session to review standby vacuum systems and landing gear operation this month. Those types of sessions are always very helpful as an education and also provide an opportunity to socialize. If you missed the session on standby vacuum or gear operation, the presentations have been loaded to the Arrow and Cessna Manual Section of the Website under Aircraft System Overview Presentations or I'm sure John or Tim would be willing to fill you in on what was covered. Thanks again guys!

Safe skies,

Charley
