From The President - By Steve
Dear Members,
Soon the officers will get together to set an agenda for our Spring meeting. If you
have an issue you think would be of interest to the club contact one of the
officers and we will see about getting it on the agenda.
It is not too soon to be thinking about Oshkosh. As usual Brian will be handling
the airplane lottery for the event.
Not much flying lately so I have been thinking about some of the changes
in our club. Ten years ago we were in the process of bringing a third airplane
into the club and consolidating our 3 hangars in their present location. We
increased the membership from 16 to 22 and purchased a Citabria. At that
time our share value was around $11,000 and fuel was a little under $6/gallon.
Now we have 24 members, the Citabria has been replaced with the RV, and
the share value and fuel have both went higher. Somehow it doesn’t seem like
10 years since John Heilmann and Phil Self spent 2 days flying the plane back
from the northeast. Today I think the club is well positioned going forward with a
solid membership, a strong officer group and 3 well equipped airplanes.

BILLING STATEMENT
Comments:
- Thanks for the receipts and please be sure to send them as soon as you fly.
- Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
BALANCE SHEET
- The Arrow took it on the chin this month with the gear pump issue. As such, the maintenance fund is largely negative. We have plenty of cash to operate into the foreseeable future but to the extent that this does not self-correct in the next nine to twelve months, we will consider adjusting the rate per hour on the Arrow.
- We filed our 2025 personal property declaration with St. Louis County; we won't know until late summer whether we get antique status on the Cessna and Arrow.

Maintenance - by John
N202CR RV-7A
- No maintenance actions on the RV this month
N20843 Cessna 172M
- No maintenance actions on the Cessna this month
N2242N Piper Arrow IV
- Landing Gear Pump - The second hydraulic pump we ordered arrived on February 6th and was installed. The pump operated properly during the test gear swings on jacks and on the test flight February 7th. Subsequent flights have had no issues with the gear operation. The first pump we ordered that failed after 2 gear swings was returned under warranty and our account credited.
- Gear down indicator lights - Sometimes the RH or Nose gear down lights would be slow to light up or had to be pushed in by hand to light up. Troubleshooting indicated that the light holders were getting worn and would not hold the bulbs in the socket tight enough. We ordered a new RH and Nose gear light holder that more firmly holds the lights in position.
