From The President - By Steve

Dear Members,

It sure was nice to see the reduction in our monthly dues in the last billing cycle. It is not often you get to see your dues going down!

Flying has been a little difficult as we deal with the typical late Winter/early Spring weather. Hopefully some good weather is coming soon as all the planes are booked for a trip to Gastons next week. Right now all the planes are on line and ready to go, as opposed to this time 2 years ago when we were down to one plane. We are fortunate to have such a great maintenance crew.

Thanks to TJ and Beth for getting our checking account setup after Mike Piccirilli left the club last year. It wasn’t as easy as I expected but they got it done.

BILLING STATEMENT

Comments:

  • Thanks for the receipts.
  • A note on Signature Fuel Bills - Our credit card was compromised and while obtaining a new one, we had a time where we had no card on file at Signature. As such, for any fuel purchases in Jan/Feb, I have provided the member with a fuel credit if they purchased fuel. I've received at least one note from a member that they did not pay for the fuel. Please know that I have provided our new card to Signature and discussed with them and they said they would work out any deficiencies. As of today, that has not happened, so I'm leaving the credits for the member and if the club card does ultimately get charged, then I will reverse the credit in a future month. It is small dollars, but I wanted to advantage the members.
  • Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

BALANCE SHEET

  • The funds are tracking nicely.
  • Cash is sufficient for the foreseeable future.
  • Thanks and please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Maintenance - by John

N202CR RV-7A

  • Trim Overspeed Annunciations - Garmin updated the G3X software to provide flap overspeed annunciations based on flap position and airspeed. If you have 20-40 deg of flaps down and exceed 87 kts, you will get a flap overspeed annunciation. If you have 0-20 deg of flaps down and exceed 95 kts, you will get a flap overspeed annunciation. The RV has so much excess power that it is easy to accelerate past these speeds with the flaps down and this overspeed annunciation will help let us know.

N20843 Cessna 172M

  • Oil Change and Nose Strut Servicing On Feb 24, the Oil and filter were changed. There were no metal particles in the filter and the oil was submitted for analysis. The nose strut was serviced with Nitrogen to extend it to the correct height.
