From The President - By Mike Piccirilli Dear Members,Happy New Year! Hope you had the chance to fly over the holidays when the weather was warm!! These below 20 degree days certainly cool my interest in outdoor activities. Remember, you'll need to pre-heat below 20 degrees and the don't forget that even when it gets above freezing, melting snow from the roof can creat quite an ice hazard directly in front of the plane. Be prepared with ice choppers, or at least extra hands to push (slide) the plane across!! I ran a new aircraft valuation. The value decreased slightly due to the increased engine time. The extra hourly overhaul fund would have more than offset it though we had to use a chunk of it to fix the one cylinder the past year. Check out the new Photo Gallery button on the left. If you have any pictures you would like to add to the site, send the jpg files to John. Happy Landings! Treasurer's Report - by Marlin Sipe Because of the increase in fuel price at JetCorp (now $3.55/gallon), the hourly rate is going up $1 to $52/hour. Keep an eye out for the cheaper fuel when the tanks are down and you stop somewhere. The Adjusted Treasury had a nice increase, from $687 to $980, putting us well ahead of what we want saved toward Annual at this point. If there are no surprises before then (Transponder Mode C?), we should be in great shape for the Annual. The AOPA credit card rebate for our JetCorp fuel for 2004 resulted in a $90.99 savings for the club.
Mike Piccirilli ran an updated aircraft valuation, which I included in the Balance Sheet. The last value was run in December 2003, and showed $47,600. The new value is $46,600, a decrease of $1000, which reduces the Share Value by $143. Maintenance - by John Heilmann & Randy Skyles Nothing to report on maintenance activities this month. With the cold weather, there hasn't been much flying. A link was added above to show the aircraft inspection records and when the next inspections are due. PAST NEWSLETTERS - Newsletter Archive
