From The President - By Steve
Dear Members,
By the time you read this, our insurance for 2022 has been renewed at $22,361/yr. Kind of disappointing only one carrier gave us a quote. As previously agreed, we insured the planes at the appraised value plus 10% to cover replacement costs. The current insured values are; Cessna $131,000, RV $120,000, and the Piper $138,000. Reviewing our insurance costs from 2019 thru 2022, we saw our rates for a given amount of coverage increase each year until this 2022 quote, which is actually a decrease in cost per thousand of coverage. Maybe we have turned the corner on rate increases. When TJ adjusted the dues last year, he used a projected cost of $22,500 for insurance so there is no dues increase.
Mike Mahoney has volunteered to serve as a check pilot for the club so he’s another option to call (in addition to Pic and Brian) if you still need a checkout in one of the planes or just to knock the rust off. Thanks Mike!
Not much flying the end of January so am wishing you guys some warmer weather. Not to rub it in but I spent a week in St. Lucia for my daughters wedding and now a few weeks in Florida. Sitting by the pool, 70 and sunny as I write this.
Stay warm and safe flying!
Steve

BILLING STATEMENT
General Comments:
- Happy New Year! Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions about your statement.
BALANCE SHEET
Significant Discussions:
- Treasury General - We have returned to a positive balance due to several members paying their accounts to a credit. This will return to negative over the coming months.
- Treasury Insurance - Last month, we finished amortizing the 2021 insurance payment to $0. In the current month, we paid $22,361 for the new insurance, which immediately began to amortize and will become $0 at the end of 2022. This also accounts for the increase in pre-paid assets.
- Maintenance Funds - All the maintenance funds are adequate and healthy relative to our spend rate over the past 12 months.
- Overall Cash - Cash is sufficient to operate into the foreseeable future.
DUES
Our current dues allocation is as follows:

N20843 Cessna 172M
- Roll Servo - During the Cessna flight on January 11th , Dale reported that the Roll servo was inoperative. The Pitch Trim and Pitch servos would hold altitude and follow pitch commands but the plane would not hold a heading or follow a NAV course. The roll servo fault was verified on the ground and a replacement roll servo was ordered under Warranty per Garmin Service Bulletin 2090 Rev A. The replacement roll servo should arrive this week and will be installed during the annual inspection.
- Annual Inspection - The Cessna Annual Inspection is scheduled to start on January 31st
N2242N Piper Arrow IV
- Pitch Trim Servo - On 31 December, we had a message on the G3X that the autopilot pitch trim servo has an internal hardware failure and will need to be replaced. We received the new Servo on January 6th and it was installed in the Arrow on January 7th. Ground testing verified pitch trim servo operation.
