From The President - By Mike Piccirilli

Dear Members,

Happy New Year! Hopefully the temperatures will warm up and melt the ice so we can go flying soon!

I talked with Mike Russell about Todd's and Jerry's membership certificates and found out that his computer crashed and he lost the format. Fortunately my call triggered him to do some searching and he found a disk at work with an old certificate format that he could use. Mike has printed the certificates and will be dropping them off at my house. I will sign them and get them out to you ASAP!

Mike checked on our insurance. It is up on April 28th and we should have more companies willing to bid on our policy now that Emerson's age (86) is not a factor. Apparently 7 members is more than some insurance companies desire to underwrite. Hopefully we can save some bucks there.

Mike also has updated the roster and I'll get it to Marlin to distribute in next month's newsletter.

I was given some info on local airports. Creve Coeur Airport has a brand new hard surface runway, another large hangar, and a bigger parking ramp. Check it out! Spirit will be resurfacing the long runway and lengthening the short runway. The FSS at Spirit should be opening this year. Also the Herman Airport should be back in operation this Spring.

Happy Landings,

Mike Piccirilli
