From The President - By Mike Piccirilli

Dear Members,

I haven't heard of any radio problems since the radios were switched. It will be interesting to receive feedback on the repair of the new radio. Fuel prices continue to go up for automobiles but I'm not sure if it will impact avfuel or not. The explanation for autos is that they are using the reformulated fuel now which has additional production expenses. I don't believe avfuel can be reformulated but the fuel companies don't really need a reason to raise prices. Bottom line: Pay attention to the price per gallon that Marlin has on the monthly bill and if, on your travels, you find it cheaper, go ahead and buy it. Please remember to fill the airplane after you fly.

Happy Landings,

Treasurer's Report - by Marlin Sipe

We received the Personal Property Tax assessment showing the new valuation, and it's up about 10% over last year (from 11,130 to 12,300). On the Flight Bill, I increased the Personal Property Tax estimate by that same percentage over last year (from $842.84 to $931.40), as a guess at what the tax will be when we get the actual bill at the end of this year. The difference in what the escrow should be up to by now is shown as an expense paid (money now in Escrow instead of Treasury).

The extra assessment last month has put us back in the green on the Treasury, but just barely ($14). Hopefully we can continue to build from this point forward.

From the Editor - from Marlin Sipe

I guess this is the last newsletter that I will be editing. It's been fun. Good luck John Heilmann.

Regarding the online scheduling. I suggest entering your name to show up on the schedule. Then use the pop-up text to add any notes. If you need tanks topped (or not), enter that in the pop-up text. You should call the person who has it scheduled before you (if anyone) to let them know how you want the fuel. Also, when you schedule, check the next entry after you (if any) to see if there are any special requests. I think that will work and hopefully make sure special requests are not missed.

If you need to schedule the plane, but don't have access to a computer at the time (spur of the moment decision to go flying while driving), call John Heilmann or one of the other club members. I think this will be a rare occurrence, but hopefully we will all be willing to help in that case.

   Maintenance - from Marlin Sipe

A graphical summary of the Oil Analysis results is available. I scaled all values to 50 hours so that comparisons would be more meaningful. Then some contaminants are divided by a fixed number to fit on the graph (e.g. Iron values are divided by 10 to fit). The intent is to see trends in each.

From Randy Skyles: I got the new radio back and installed it today (June 13) and it works just like it used to. I took the #2 radio out and moved the #1 to the #2 position and installed the new radio. Now for the bad news, when I went to check out the radio in the #2 position, the Freq knob broke off. So I installed the low volume radio in the #2 position again. I'll drop off the radio at Ozark and have it repaired. Sometimes we just can't win. The good thing, is there wasn't any charge for the repair on the new radio.
