From The President - By Pic

Dear Members,

I want to remind everyone that you have the responsibility to leave our planes, equipment and office in good shape after your use. Charley has done a great job of stocking the airplane cleaning supplies in the wall cabinet behind the Arrow. Please use the appropriate cleaner based on the item being cleaned; blue for normal painted surfaces (bug stains), red for greasy painted surfaces (wheel pants, belly) and Plexis for the windshield. The club handbook (in the flight log book of each plane) provides more details. On a recent flight, I found the 172 right hand sidewall marked up with ink (see picture). While I'm sure this was accidental, please be aware of your surroundings. My initial try to remove the ink had little success. I've got a couple of additional ideas to try, wish me luck.

Paul Carpenter has received a job offer in Nashville and will be moving soon. In order to make the sale of his share easier, Paul and I met recently and he signed his certificate and gave it to me along with his keys. I will act as his principal to sell his share and provide him the proceeds from the sale. I have updated the club brochure and put copies over in the Spirit Pilot Shop. I will also leave some additional copies on the club table. If you know of someone or someplace to post, please take a one and pass it along. Paul would really appreciate the help! UPDATE!! - I showed a potential new member the Arrow and club facilities on 21 June and we received the required membership approvals for his membership.

Treasurer's Report - by PIC

We now have 2.5 months fuel usage history with the new tachometer on the C-172. We've been burning 8.2 gal/hr vs the 9 gallons in the hourly calculations. The new 172 is $80/hr. I also updated the Arrow which is averaging 10.2 gal/hr. It's new rate is $106/hr. No change to the monthly dues and the share value went up slightly. I'm glad to see members are taking advantage of cheaper fuel at area airports. Steve, Phil and Kip saved from $13 to $22 on their flights this month.

Oil Change - The oil and filter were changed on 9 June and the oil analysis results are shown below. The high iron reading that we had May last year is now down to the lower levels we previously had.
