From The President - By Steve

Dear Members,

With the summer heat settling in I hope everyone was able to stay cool and enjoy the 4th of July. The weather started warming up about the time of the air show at Spirit but still a big turnout to see the Blue Angels and many others put on a great show. If you want to see some incredible air show photos check out Brian Williams post on Facebook!

Congratulations are in order for Beth Campbell and Damian Mahoney. Beth completed her checkout in the 172 and has flown in the Arrow. Damian flew the Cessna to South Dakota and returned with a single and multi engine commercial rating. Way to go!

We are working on getting the member status page current so I would ask all of you to take a look at that page and send me a note if your medical or flight review dates are not accurate. Keep in mind the 4 year basic med exam is only good for 4 years from the exam date and not to the end of the month.

Stay cool and safe flying,

Steve

Treasurer's Report - by T.J

BILLING STATEMENT

Comments:

  • Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns;
  • As discussed at the meeting, and last month's statement, the increased dues and rates per hour are reflected as of May 16;
  • Fuel prices do continue to climb with our TacAir full service amount at $7.83 per gallon
  • Thanks John and Larry for all of your efforts on the annual for the Arrow. It is back up and ready to be flown!

BALANCE SHEET

Comments:

  • The Cessna landing light and Arrow annual were the contributors to the fact that both of their maintenance funds decreased in the month
  • John sold the other audio panel and the new dues increases the monthly contribution to avionics to $500 per month. As such, the avionics improvement fund is expected to increase.

   Maintenance - by John

N202CR RV-7A

  • No maintenance items on the RV this month

N20843 Cessna 172M

  • oil Change - On 2 June, the oil and filter were changed and three cowl shock mount receptacles were replaced. The filter had no metal particles and the oil analysis results are normal.

N2242N Piper Arrow IV

  • Arrow Annual Inspection - The Arrow annual was completed on June 14th and returned to service on June 15th.
  • LH Main Flat Tire On June 17th, Larry was walking through the Arrow hangar and noticed that the LH tire was flat. We test flew the Arrow after the annual and everything was fine with the tire/tube as we landed, taxied to the yellow ramp for fuel and then back to the hangar. We removed the tire and tube and found a small hole in the innertube. We installed a new tire, Michelin tube and new brake pads and returned the aircraft to service
  • Smart Glide During the Annual Inspection, we had G3X software version 9.0 installed. Version 9 software supports Smart Glide on Certified aircraft similar to what is on the RV-7A G3X.
