From The President - By Mike Piccirilli Dear Members, Summer is finally here which means fly-in breakfasts are available on the weekends. I attended the Father's Day fly-in breakfast at Taylor, MO (by Quincy, IL). The weather was perfect, the grass strip was smooth and about 60 planes were in attendance! I had a great time. I noticed two items during my pre-flight, that I wanted to call to your attention. The pitiot cover was missing. The flight sheet was picked up for the month so I couldn't tell who were the last pilots. Did someone accidently take it home with their flight gear? Also, a cowling screw is missing from the left hand air intake. It must have worked it's way out. Do we have any extra cowling screws to leave in the glove compartment for these occasions? I took the afternoon of Father's Day to work on sprucing up the interior. I painted and replaced the plastic panel which holds up the extended baggage liner and finshes off the rear window area. I took out the remaining three baggage compartment panels and spray painted them in the tan color. I also colored the extended bagage area carpet tan. All the baggage area interior panels have now had their color changed. At the next annual, I can work on masking off and spray painting the metal areas of the door frames and hinges. John is going to be setting up the annual meeting. Hope to see you all then. Happy Landings! Club Meeting - by John Heilmann Based on everyones input, it looks like Tuesday, July 1 at 7:00 PM works out to be the best time for the club meeting. A few members mentioned that they would like to have the meeting on a week night in order to keep the weekends free. We will be meeting at the Jetcorp Terminal building conference room. Treasurer's Report - by Marlin Sipe The Adjusted Treasury is now back in positive territory, at $86. The extra assessment plus the surplus from the lower insurance brought things up, but there were lots of fuel credits taken this month for flying that won't be paid until next month, and that pulled it down. Fuel at JetCorp is now being charged to my credit card, resulting in a rebate savings of $10.49 this month. Also, the JetCorp fuel is shown as a credit for me. It will no longer be shown as Fuel under Expenses Paid, which was the case when the club was paying the Phillips 66 credit card bill directly. Looks like fuel being bought elsewhere is sometimes considerably cheaper than JetCorp, resulting in significant savings too. Keep your eyes open and buy it cheap if it's convenient. We received the assessment for the personal property tax. The assessed value is unchanged from last year, which means the tax should change very little this year. The reduced value of the aircraft (now $45,000, down from $49,254) has reduced the estimated share value from something over $7000 to around $6600.
Maintenance - by John Heilmann Oil Change - The oil change is due in 16 hours. Marlin is planning on going to PA in late July, which usually puts around 15 hours on the plane. We may want to consider changing the oil in early July. Pilot Door Lock - On a recent trip, the outside key lock on the pilot side door would not lock. Randy took a look at it and made some adjustments to make it work. It Locks now but still needs further adjustment to work as smoothly as it did before. Insurance - by Todd Michal The insurance coverage on N20843 has been renewed for another year with AVEMCO. The new premium comes out to $2608 per year. The coverages are unchanged from last year except that the hull coverage is reduced to $45,000 to reflect the latest appraisal value. The premium has been paid and the new policy becomes effective on June 18, 2003. The "Club Insurance" button to the left has been updated to show the latest insurance policy. BFR/Medicals Due - by Todd Michal According to the club records, the following Medical and BFR's will expire over the next 6 months.
Please provide me with any updates on your medical or BFR status.
