From The President - By Steve

Dear Members,

Recently the officers got together to pick a date and set an agenda for our Spring meeting. We will hold the meeting in the hangar starting at noon on May 29.and like last time there will be food and drinks before the meeting. It shouldn't take more than a couple of hours so please try to attend. If anyone has something they would like to get on the agenda send me a note. Damian will have the final agenda out prior to the meeting.

I am making an appeal to our members who haven't yet been able to serve in a volunteer capacity. There will be at least one vacancy in the officer positions this Fall as Geoff is stepping down from the VP spot. While the jobs of Maintenance officer, Treasurer and check pilot may require a unique skill set, the rest of the positions do not and any member could easily transition into one of these spots. I want to thank those who are serving now and those who served in the past, and encourage the rest of the members to see if they could find some time in their schedule to help out.

Thanks to John and Larry for all the work they are putting into the RV annual!

Safe flying!

Steve

BILLING STATEMENT

General Comments:

  • Please don’t hesitate to let me know if there are questions.

BALANCE SHEET

Significant Discussions:

  • Maintenance Funds - All of the balances are adequate.
  • Overall Cash - Cash is sufficient to operate into the foreseeable future.

DUES

We made a new estimate of insurance and dues in mid-2021 and the current billing is sufficient. Our current dues allocation is as follows:

   Maintenance - by John

N202CR RV-7A

  • Annual Inspection - The annual Condition Inspection started on March 17th and is still in work. The major efforts being worked are repairs to the cracked/worn engine baffles that support the oil cooler and installation of the "Almost RV-14" seat back support that provides more room/comfort for taller pilots. We are also installing a Koger Sun Shade to minimize solar heating of the cockpit during the summer months. More details of the condition inspection will be provided in next months newsletter.

N20843 Cessna 172M

  • No Maintenance Actions this month

N2242N Piper Arrow IV

  • Oil Change On 23 March, the oil was changed and an oil sample was sent in for analysis. Oil analysis results were good and there was no metal in the filter.
  • Autopilot Pitch Servo - The pitch servo failed and we have requested a warranty replacement from Garmin. Until the new pitch servo is installed, the autopilot circuit breaker has been pulled and collared. With the autopilot inoperative, the electric trim no longer works so you will need to use manual trim.
