From The President - By Charley

Dear Members:

Thanks to everyone who attended our May Club Meeting, we broke a record for meeting attendance! We passed a long term improvement motion for the Cessna and the Arrow which includes some exciting upgrades to aircraft panels and autopilots for both aircraft. If you were unable to attend the meeting and would like additional details about the upgrades, please drop John a note.

As a reminder, TacAir is now charging to push aircraft into our out of the hangar. If you choose to leave an aircraft unattended for fueling, you will be charged $30 per occurrence by TacAir which will show up on your monthly billing statement. For clarification, this does not include "assistance" pushing the aircraft into the hangar. Most of the line personnel will offer to help you push an aircraft back into the hangar. This assistance is at their own discretion but also a no charge. You are still responsible for any damage to the aircraft and the TacAir employee is simply assisting with back labor in this case.

As discussed at the meeting, we are sticking with our current fuel options as most seem to feel that the arrangement is working well and provides plenty of options. The self serve fuel pump is a great option to save money if you have time and the full service option still provides the flexibility of having fuel delivered.

Congrats to Mike Landgraf who was the only member who submitted a request to take an aircraft to Oshkosh this year, he will be taking the Arrow. Per our procedure, other aircraft are available on a first come, first served basis after the official lottery date which was at our meeting.

Thanks again to everyone who pitched in to make our latest meeting a success and especially thanks to John for the detailed aircraft upgrade proposal that was passed!

Safe skies,

Charley

Treasurer's Report - by T.J

Fellow Members,

I have no commentary this month as not much has happened. So you know, we are still working out the $90 with TacAir; but it appears we will be getting a credit so I have not “charged” the members. It will wash next month. Please let me know if you have any questions.

   Maintenance - by John

N8746V Citabria 7ECA

Charging System - The ammeter indicated that the system was not charging correctly on a flight on 25 May. The alternator was removed and the field coil tested. After cleaning the alternator carbon brushes and slip rings, the alternator field coil was reading the correct resistance. After installing the alternator, the system was still not working correctly and a new Voltage regulator was ordered. With the holiday weekend, we probably won’t get the new regulator until 1 June.
