From The President - By Steve

Dear Members, I am happy to welcome Beth Campbell as the newest member of the club. She purchased Kevin Gause's share when he took a job outside the country. I know Beth is looking forward to getting checked out in the airplanes so when you see a new face around the hangar stop and say hello.

It was great to see everyone at our meeting. We had a nice turnout considering it was Memorial Day weekend. Thanks to Damian for organizing the meeting, TJ for the financial overview and explanation on how he sets the dues and hourly rates, and Pic for his expertise in in valuing the airplanes and keeping track of who is/is not flying. We missed John's maintenance report as he was sidelined with covid. John Waddell and his wife provided another fantastic lunch. The Oshkosh lottery drawing was announced and Kip is going in the Cessna.

Kip has also been busy solving our slow internet problems with some IT stuff that is way over my head. It is nice to have reliable service in the hangar and really helpful for John and Larry when they need to do some research, order parts, or do the monthly GPS updates.

Don't forget about the airshow June 11th/12th and the airport closures that take place part of each day starting June 9th.

Safe flying,

Steve

Treasurer's Report - by T.J

BILLING STATEMENT

Comments:

  • Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns;
  • As discussed at the meeting, and shown in the sections below, the membership is electing to increase the dues and rates per hour as of May 16 to ensure sufficient funding going forward. See discussion there.

BALANCE SHEET

Comments:

  • Cash is adequate across the board and expected to increase through the end of the year.
  • As scheduled, the planes have been marked to fair value as of May 15 (and November 15) and the differences are recorded on the balance sheet.

DUES

As discussed at the meeting, the dues will look like the following as of May 16:

Rate per hour

As discussed at the meeting, fuel has risen ~ $3 per gallon over the past 18 months and we haven't had an increase in rates. This is because we receive our maintenance for free and so as fuel has increased, we have decreased contributions to our maintenance funds. While all the funds are currently at a reasonable level, it is the desire of the membership to begin to prepare for the day when we will need to pay for maintenance. As such, the rate per hour for each plane is increasing $10 per hour. We will continue to track the funds separately and will adjust specific rates as necessary to ensure the planes are properly funding themselves.

N202CR RV-7A

  • No maintenance items on the RV this month

N20843 Cessna 172M

Here is a list of other items covered during the annual inspection:

    • Updated G3X system software to Version 9 per Garmin
    • Serviced brake and landing gear hydraulic reservoirs.
    • Added new aluminized heat barrier piece to LH lower cowl
