From The President - By Mike Piccirilli

Dear Members,

Not much new to report this month. The rain hasn't let up very much. It's bound to, sooner or later!

Charlie hasn't had any interest generated in hls ad for his share. He is going to be advertising in the Post Dispatch over the next 2 weekends. He has lowered his asking price to $5,000. I was going to start an ad in the ''St. Louis Air Mall", but they went out of business. I'll see how Charlie's ad does before I'll decide to pay for advertising. For the mean time, I will continue to keep the sign in the plane's window and on bulletin boards for $4,000 for an 8th share.

Last weekend, I took the plane to the paint shop at Spirit and got a bid of $3150 to paint it. The bid includes a full chemical strip, hand sanding, power wash, chemical etching, alodining, primer and overall white Alumigrip with 2 color trim. This paint shop has done quite a few planes at Spirit. You can take a look at the Musketeer (right next to us), a 2 tone C-172 (facing the opposite way under the shade hangar) and a C-182RG (facing the same way under the shade hangar). The Air Spirit planes are all painted by this shop but I was told they are "rough" because Air Spirit wants minimum down time and gets a discount. Normally the paint shop wants 2 weeks to do it right.

Happy Landings,

Mike Piccirilli
