St. Louis Flying Club Newsletter - 8 December 2009

From The President - By Todd Michal

Dear Members,

Thanks to everyone for trying to attend the annual club meeting on Sunday, Dec 13 from 3-5. Hopefully everyone will still be able to make it. In addition to the club officer elections, we will be reviewing a proposal to add additional members and a second plane to the club. The urgency for the meeting is that the proposed plane for the club may not be available much longer. Mike Piccirilli, a former club member, will be making the presentation to the club.

Now that the temperatures are going into 30's and below, lets keep the engine heater plugged in. The heater not only heats up the oil and cylinders, it also warms up the engine compartment/battery which makes starting much easier.

Happy Takeoffs!

Todd

Treasurer's Report - by Mike McBride

IFR Checks - Mueller Avionics was called to do the Altimeter & Altitude Reporter Test per FAR 91.411 and the Transponder Test per FAR 91.413. These tests are required every two years and are due by the end of December. Jim Mueller plans to do the test during the week of 7 Dec.

Winterization Plate - The oil cooler winterization plate was added between the air inlet and the oil cooler on Dec 6 to allow the oil temperature to increase more quickly during the winter months.
