From The President - By Charley
Dear Members, It was great to see such a good turnout at our meeting on the 9th. We made good progress on some pending upgrade decisions and thanks to all who agreed to serve on the aircraft improvement committee. There are some important details available below in the Meeting Minutes for those who were unable to attend. Thanks also to Dom, Phil and TJ for bringing food, utensils and cooking at the BBQ afterwards, everyone had a great time! Phil Self has indicated that he will be selling his share in the club. We are sorry to see Phil go, he has been instrumental in many of the work projects around the club and always willing to help out with anything. We have contacted everyone on the waiting list with no definite interest as of yet. Phil will be posting flyers at the Pilot Shop and likely elsewhere. Please contact me if anyone knows of someone interested in joining the club. The concrete in the Cessna hangar has been repaired by Spirit Airport Maintenance and it looks great. Dom is looking into paint that would adhere to asphalt and an estimated cost if we decide to pursue that as an option next spring. Thanks to Kip and Mike Landgraf for painting a new stripe in the repaired Cessna hangar floor. Congratulations to T.J. on the completion of his Arrow checkout this month which he finished last week. As a reminder, winter weather is upon us, the member handbook has been updated with instructions about how to use the remote engine heat controls. The controls are simple and use and make easy to have a nicely heated engine overnight. Thanks Dom for making updates to the handbook! I would also like to thank Pic for his leadership as President. We accomplished many improvements during his tenure including new By Laws, the development of a new member handbook, combination of two club hangars and a “corporate office” and many, many other items important to maintaining such a great flying club. Great job and thanks Pic! Everyone have a great Thanksgiving and happy landings, Charley Treasurer's Report - by PIC No change to the hourly costs or monthly dues. The share value increased by ~ $70 to $10,650 due to the low maintenance related costs this month. The aircraft values were readjusted to the market valuations discussed during the November meeting. A reminder to take advantage of TACair self-fuel available in front of the control tower (save ~1.00/gallon, ~ $10/hr savings). Fly Safely! PIC
