Dear Members,

Today Gerard (Jerry) Graklanoff purchased Chuck's share of the flying club. I went flying with Jerry last weekend and feel he has good piloting skills and will treat the C-172 as each as each of us currently do. Jerry is interested in flying with other members to get familiar with the airplane and the other members. I have already called NationAir Insurance and put Jerry on the policy, effective today. Mike, would you please add Jerry to the flying club roster in place of Chuck? It would be good to distribute it in the next newsletter. Mike, I will also be sending you Chuck's membership certificate endorsed over to Jerry. Please prepare a new membership certificate for Jerry, sign it, and then send it to me. I will sign it and mail it on to Jerry.

Thanks to Randy for his work and effort to take the DG out, get it overhauled, and installed back in the plane. It took some running around and I really appreciate it. Randy also changed the oil this month and the oil analysis is enclosed. The analysis shows a potentially high level of chromium, though the level doesn't look that abnormal from the last 3 or 4 samples. Since the cylinders are Cermichrome I'm not sure if this is that abnormal or not. Randy, I am looking for your experience and information network to decide if we need to do oil samples more often (every 25 hours?) or any other action that might be needed.

As far as I have heard the transponder has worked fine since it's overhaul. Let Randy and or Marlin know if it isn't.

Treasurer's Report - by Marlin Sipe

The treasury had an increase this month, even with the repair of the Directional Gyro, but we are still about $160 below what we would like to have saved towards the annual inspection. Hopefully with our new member Jerry, flying will increase, and we'll continue to improve the treasury.

The oil was changed recently, but I did not get the Tach time to put on the billing statement. I'll have that on for next month.
