From The President - By Todd Michal
Dear Members, The WAAS upgrade was completed and works great. To test out the WAAS vertical guidance capability, John and I flew the RNAV (GPS) RWY 15 and RNAV (GPS) RWY 33 approaches into Washington Regional (MO6). The glidslope needle on the #1 CDI gives the vertical guidance and works just like the glideslope on an ILS approach. The photo below is on the RWY 33 approach.
Happy Takeoffs! Todd Treasurer's Report - by Mike McBride I've pulled together the financials for the club for October. The painting came in about $1000 over what we expected (we did not account for taxes on the work), which puts the treasury in a deficit position; the deficit will not be easily made up with just monthly dues. I've spoken with Todd, and we believe that the best thing to do at this point is to include an assessment to get the treasury to the desired level for the annual at this point. Our treasury is just over $1,200 short of the desired level at this point, so I've included an assessment of $150 per member on the October flight statement. The adjusted treasury is still in a deficit position (treasury adjusted for outstanding member credits), but that should not present a problem at this point. Since John is in Korea for awhile, I thought I'd share the billing statement with all of you directly so you would have time to work the assessment into your budgets. Maintenance - by John WAAS Upgrade - The GNS-430 WAAS upgrade was completed on 25 September. The WAAS capability was checked on two approaches and works perfectly. We also did an ILS approach into Spirit to verify the ILS works as well. Maintenance Squawks - Mark reported a few maintenance issues after his return flight from Bolivar, TN to St Louis. The squawks were resolved as follows:
