From The President - By Steve
Dear Members,
We had a nice turnout for our Fall meeting with 18 members in attendance. Thanks again to John Waddell
and Beth Campbell for the food, Damian for coordinating the meeting, and all the officer's who volunteered to
serve for another year.
I was thinking about everything that happened with the club in the last 12 months.
In September of 2023 the Arrow had the gear issue and prop strike and did not fly again until September of 2024.
In October of 2023 the RV was taken out of service for metal in the oil and did not fly again
until July of 2024. When the RV failed in 2023 John and Larry were finishing the 180hp upgrade on the
Cessna so we were lucky to only go a few days with no plane to fly. We are fortunate indeed that in a span
of 1 year we went from no airworthy planes to 3 planes with new or recently overhauled engines. While all
this was going on we also transferred shares to 4 new members. A busy time for the St. Louis Flying Club!
Fall is such a great time to fly with the leaves turning and temperature dropping. I managed a golf trip to
Lake of the Ozarks and couldn't be happier with Lake Aviation at Camdenton (KOZS). The fuel is reasonable
and the ramp fee was waived. Other members have been to Gastons, Kentucky Lake, Nebraska, and Indiana.

BILLING STATEMENT
Comments:
- Thanks for your patience this month as I have been delayed in getting the financial statements out.
- VERY IMPORTANT- With the KSUS Self-Serve pump not working, please review your credits very carefully. We had significant activity on the club credit card with so many people using the Signature fuel truck. As a reminder, you need to tell the driver that we get the SS price and to waive the facility fee......as their billing appears to be very chaotic.
- Also, if you think you should have received a fuel credit (and it was not provided), that means they charged your personal card and the club card. Please e-mail me ASAP.
BALANCE SHEET
- Cash - With the insurance claim finalized regarding the Arrow, we now expect to have sufficient cash for operations into the foreseeable future. We currently expect our total insurance premium to approximate $26k, which we will cover with cash on hand. Thanks to all who put cash in their accounts to help the club cash flow when needed.
- Aircraft - The aircraft are currently valued at market and will be revalued on November 15 in preparation for our 2025 insurance.
- Work in Progress - There is no longer any work in progress as all work on both the RV and Arrow has been completed.
- Member Equity - Because the final insurance true-up was larger than anticipated, a share of the club has risen to $21k
DUES
- Given our financial condition, we don't anticipate raising the dues this year. Unless we have significant changes, you can expect the following table. Thank you to everyone that works so hard to keep the club operating so well.
Maintenance - by John
N202CR RV-7A
- Alternator Pilot reports indicated that the G3X voltage annunciator would come on occasionally indicating the voltage was over 15V. Normally the voltage should be around 14.3V with the alternator/voltage regulator working properly. On October 22nd, we replaced the alternator/voltage regulator with a new PG-14684 alternator and the voltage is now steady around 14.3 volts.
N20843 Cessna 172M
- Annual Inspection - The annual inspection started on 7 October and was completed on 11 October. In addition to the inspection, the following maintenance items were completed:
- Replaced LH and RH brake pads (RA-66) and brake discs (APS164-04000).
- Regreased main and nose wheel bearings.
- Replaced LH upper cowl mount with new SK2003-14A receptacle
- Replaced the starter ring gear with a new Lycoming 72566 Ring Gear.
- Complied with AD 2011-10-09 Seat Rail and Roller Inspection
N2242N Piper Arrow IV
- Oil Change - On October 7th, we changed the oil and filter after the initial 18.4 hours on the engine to check the filter and oil for any signs of abnormal wear. The filter looked good with no metal particles and the oil sample was sent in for analysis.
