From The President - By Mike Piccirilli

Dear Members,

We got the refund check for the left magneto. They paid for the magneto but not the labor. Even so, it was enough to finally get us back to break even, or close enough. I still hope to get a refund on the right magneto but it will probably take another month or two.

The annual is being done on Saturday and Sunday, 26 and 27 Oct. It is being done at C&D Aviation which is at Smartt Field, St. Charles County Airport. All members are requested to take part with whatever time they can contribute. I plan on being out there by 8:00 Saturday morning since I have to leave about noon. We need some help in getting the plane to St. Charles County on Friday 25 October. I'll offer to pick the person up at Smartt and drive them back to Spirit to pickup their car. I can pick them up after work around 5:00 Friday night. It would be free flying time for someone. First to call gets it!

Charlie tells me the hearing might be on for the first week of November. We'll see!

I think the treasury will finally be in good enough shape to get the VOR #1 and COM #2 radios worked on next month. Let's hope the annual goes well!

Spirit is planning on putting up shade hangars to the west of the trailer. I put our name on an "interested'' list. Cost is projected to be $100/month. Let me know what you think.

Happy Landings,

Mike Piccirilli
