From The President - By Mike Piccirilli Dear Members, Randy Skyles has officially taken over Leonard Newmark's share. Welcome to the club Randy! I think it is time to have a club meeting. I have arranged to use the conference room at Million Air on Wednesday, 25 October, at 7:00 P.M. The minimum agenda will be:
Please plan on attending. Let me know of any other agenda items. Call if you can not attend so I can represent your ideas. Million Air is located at the end of Bell Ave at Spirit. Push the call box button to gain access to the parking area. The saga of the overvoltage light has finally ended! C.J. ran the 172 over to Weiss to get it taken care of on 10/12. After troubleshootlng, the only thing found wrong was a loose wire running into the back of the alternator. Every time the RPM got past 2000 there would be enough alr blast to make the wire lose contact, which would trlp the light. The mechanic told me that the alternator was not going off line when this occurred, therefore there was no impact on the battery. He dld check the regulator and it was allowing 13.6 volts to pass through. The mechanic thought this was on the low side and really should be just above 14 volts. John and Emerson reported that they had trouble with the starter the other day. It seems that the starter would rotate but would not engage the starter ring. After letting it sit about 15 minutes, it started normally. I had this same kind of trouble last winter, but I just chocked it up to the starter being too cold and the battery being too weak. Treasury Tidbits. The radio station renewal came and surprise!, they are now good for 10 years instead of 5. There was a $50 admlnlstratlve charge to add Randy to the insurance. The personal property tax went up $88 to $721.26. Happy Landings, Mike Piccirilli
