From The President - By Todd Michal
Dear Members, It's hard to believe that with the great weather we had last month, only John and Mike McBride were able to get some flying time. John started work on his instrument rating which explains his recent increase in flying. Hopefully everyone can get up during the beautiful fall weather ahead. Mark Rehwinkel announced he will be selling his share. Mark contacted the applicants on the waiting list but they had either moved or found some other arrangement. Mike Landgraf at Boeing heard about the opening and is interested in buying Mark's share pending a demo flight. Good luck Mark and thanks for all your help with the database updates over the past several years. Happy Takeoffs! Todd Treasurer's Report - by Mike McBride This month's statement includes a catch-up entry that I missed in the June timeframe. At that time I had moved funds from escrow to treasury for insurance, but had failed to note the insurance payment (which was actually made, just not recorded on the statement). This month's financials show a charge of almost $1,600 for that payment. This puts our current treasury and adjusted treasury balances in the red, but nothing to cause concern (or assessment) at this point. Fuel prices at TacAir are at $5.22 per gallon, which puts our flight rate at $59 per flight hour. We had six flight hours for the month. The plane has been flying great; hope everyone gets a chance to get out and enjoy some time aloft while the weather is so nice. Fly safely! Mike
